Bayshore Senior Nutrition Center Named a PSC Helping Hand

TALLAHASSEE — The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) is recognizing Bayshore Senior Nutrition Center, part of Hillsbourgh County’s Department of Aging Services, as December’s Helping Hand. The Center helps the PSC raise public awareness about the Lifeline Assistance communications discount program, energy and water conservation, and scams affecting seniors.

“We provide programs to help ensure a good quality of life for our clients as they age, including health, nutrition, and other practical information,” said Gloria Moreno, Center Coordinator-Nutrition and Wellness.  “Our PSC partnership fits nicely with our goals. We appreciate the information to help our seniors save money on their bills and be aware of consumer scams.”

Each month, the PSC highlights a partner agency or organization whose clients are eligible for the Federal Lifeline Program and/or need help reducing energy and water bills. Through these PSC Helping Hand partnerships, the Commission shares vital information to help consumers better manage their resources to meet their monthly bills and avoid falling for utility-related scams.
