The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) has taken another step to encourage the expansion of Florida’s renewable generating industry.
The five-member panel has scheduled a public hearing on rules to encourage the development of additional renewable generation in Florida. Renewable facilities generate electricity from burning solid waste, plant matter, solar and other renewable energy sources. Renewable generators are being asked to provide specific rule language for discussion and consideration by the commissioners at the hearing scheduled for November 9.
Today’s action is part of a continuing PSC effort to promote additional renewable energy generation in the State. “The Commission wants to establish regulatory requirements that will encourage increased development and use of viable alternative energy sources in Florida,” said Chairman Lisa Polak Edgar.
