Florida’s Public Service Commission (PSC) will hold a hearing beginning Wednesday, March 4, 2009, to consider Peoples Gas System’s (Peoples) application for a rate increase.
In August, Peoples filed a petition with the PSC for approval of a $26.4 million permanent increase to its rates. Peoples provides natural gas service to approximately 334,000 commercial, industrial, and residential customers in three regions. The South Region includes the Daytona Beach, Eustis, Orlando, Palm Beach, Southwest Florida, and Dade Broward divisions. The West Region includes the Tampa, St. Petersburg, Lakeland, Avon Park, and Sarasota divisions. The North Region includes the Jacksonville, Panama City, and Ocala divisions.
At the hearing, testimony and other evidence related to the utility’s rates and service will be presented. The hearing is scheduled to last three days, but could end early. The hearing dates, time, and location are below:
