Florida’s Public Service Commission (PSC) will convene a Special Agenda Conference on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, to consider final rates in Aqua Utilities Florida, Inc.’s (Aqua) application for increased water and wastewater rates.
In May 2008, Aqua filed an application for an increase in its water and wastewater rates with the PSC. In its application, Aqua requested a total increase of $4.5 million for its water systems and $3.8 million for its wastewater systems. The utility also requested interim rates and state-wide uniform rates for its systems. Aqua provides service to 82 water and wastewater systems in Alachua, Brevard, DeSoto, Highlands, Lake, Lee, Marion, Orange, Palm Beach, Pasco, Polk, Putnam, Seminole, Sumter, Volusia, and Washington counties.
