The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, on a proposed biomass plant in Gainesville. The 100 megawatt plant is a joint project of Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU) and Gainesville Renewable Energy Center, LLC.
The public hearing will give GRU customers and members of the public an opportunity to provide sworn public testimony regarding the need for the proposed renewable power plant. The plant will be located at GRU’s existing Deerhaven plant site in Alachua County.
