Florida’s Public Service Commission (PSC) will hold a workshop on Wednesday, May 4 to review the status of hurricane preparedness for the state’s electric utilities and major telephone companies. The annual workshop reviews actions that have been taken to protect the electric transmission and distribution facilities in the state from the impact of severe weather.
Each utility will present its current storm-hardening preparation status. Preparation categories include facility inspections; maintenance and repairs; coordination with other utilities, government, and community groups; and other storm-hardening measures. The presentations will also address unfinished work and identify specific areas of concern.
The workshop is set for the following time and location:
Wednesday, May 4, 2011
Betty Easley Conference Center
Joseph P. Cresse Hearing Room (Room 148)
4075 Esplanade Way
