Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) Chairman Ronald A. Brisé has been nominated as the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners’ (NARUC) representative on the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) Board. Chairman Brisé was nominated by NARUC President and South Carolina Public Service Commissioner David Wright. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman reviews all nominations and selects each USAC Board member.
“I’m honored to have been nominated by NARUC President Wright,” Chairman Brisé said, “and I look forward to finding effective solutions that best serve the public interest in telecommunications.”
Chairman Brisé will serve as the state telecommunications regulators’ representative on the 19-member USAC Board, an independent, not-for-profit corporation designated as the administrator of the federal Universal Service Fund (USF) by the FCC. USAC administers USF telecommunications programs for high cost companies serving rural areas, low-income consumers, rural health care providers, and schools and libraries.
As a former member of the Florida House of Representatives (District 108) and former Chief Operating Officer for IPIP Corporation, a VoIP telecommunications carrier, Chairman Brisé brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the USAC Board by representing the diverse interest groups that are interested in and affected by the USF.
