The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) will hold a workshop on Thursday, September 6, to discuss a study on electric vehicle charging stations and their potential impact on energy consumption and Florida’s electric grid.
In addition to addressing the effects of public and privately owned electric vehicle charging stations, the Commission will investigate the feasibility of using off-grid solar photovoltaic power as a source of electricity for the charging stations.
The Commission is required by Florida Statute to perform the study and submit its findings to the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the Executive Office of the Governor by December 31, 2012.
An opportunity for public comment will be provided at the end of the workshop, which is set for the following time and location:
