Florida’s Public Service Commission (PSC) will hold a Commission Conference on Monday, November 26, to determine the 2013 nuclear cost recovery amounts for current and future Progress Energy Florida (PEF) and Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) nuclear power plant projects.
Under Florida statute, utilities may recover certain construction costs associated with the development and maintenance of nuclear power plants. The PSC evaluates these costs annually and approves amounts recovered through the fuel and capacity cost recovery charge on customers’ bills.
PEF’s projects include construction of its proposed nuclear power plants Levy Units 1 and 2, and adding capacity to its existing Crystal River nuclear generating plant. FPL’s projects include construction of its planned Turkey Point Units 6 and 7, and adding capacity to existing Turkey Point Units 3 and 4 and St. Lucie Units 1 and 2.
The agenda is set for the following time and location:
Monday, November 26, 2012
Betty Easley Conference Center
Joseph P. Cresse Hearing Room (Room 148)
4075 Esplanade Way
